I am just going to ignore the lack of posting lately and jump into a quick uopdate on my obsessions as of late
Work- Ok for the most part except that summer means extra long hours and closing shifts. I am sure it will pay off when my paycheck comes around but for now Intel is becoming my least favorite place.
Home- Becoming obsessed with decorating my new place. I am currently on the lookout for a colorful chair for my living room that isn't going to cost me a months rent.
Loving- All Things H&M and Old Navy. I have gotten so many cute tops and dresses from the two in the past couple of weeks.
Hating- Laundry. Trying to find an alternative to laundry. I really really hate doing laundry, I much rather just buy new clothes. Good for the economy, not so good for my budget.
Music- Really into Lana Del Rey and St. Vincent right now. I am excited for the new Regina Spektor album and wishing she would come to smelly AZ.
Working Out- I have been working out 3 to 4 times a week and already feel better. I have set a weight loss goal and am ready to make it happen.
That's all
I'm off to watch some more True Life*
*I have issues with this show. Don't judge
Under The Desert Sun
A lovely mix of beautiful sounds, amazing clothes, and everyday loves.

Day 2
Picking up on where I left off, I am writing about my favorite bands for day two of Coachella. There are alot of bands on day two and sadly I have the feeling some of them will be playing at the same time.
Here are my top five bands/artists that I am looking forward to watching* at Coachella day 2
Dragonette- They are like Goldfrapp meets La Roux. I hope she plays at night with a fun light show. Here is her song "Pick up the phone"
37 days and counting folks.
* and dancing too obvs.

We Were Promised Jet Packs- I really love this song. "bring me back to life, I've stumbled so many times"
This is "Medicine"
Miike Snow- This song clearly says it all. This is "Devil's Work"
St Vincent- Holly balls I am dying to see St. Vincent!! I have heard that they are unbelivable live. This is my new favorite "Cheerleader"
Bon Iver- Even though most of their songs are slow and the lead singer looks like a grizzly man, Bon Iver has seriously been growing on me and has even made me cry every now and then. Listen to "Skinny Love"

Adulthood
Every now and then it hits me that whoa I am 22. When the hell did that happen? wasn't it just yesterday that I was 16 and sitting in the back of my AP English class reading mangas instead of learning Walt Whitman. Now I have to deal with adult issues like paying rent and bills and worrying about insurance coverage. I see so many other adults my age who have it together, they have finished college, have real jobs, and grown up hair cuts. Here I am working on being a nurse and working at a job where I have to make coffee for the grown up adults my age. People keep telling me to keep going and not to give up but it isn't always that easy. I feel like this year is my make it or break it year, and my to do list keeps growing. I guess I should just take it on one by one and pray I don't fuck it up.

Coachella 2012
I am not going to lie folks,I am a huge music junkie. I spend obscene amounts of time finding new artists and hearing new tracks. I am constantly comparing one sound to another sound. That being said the Coachella Music & Arts Festival is the motherland of good music. This year my friend Monica and are making the trek out to Palm Springs California. Well with a line up like this who the hell could blame us.
The Holy Grail |
That being stated I began the overwhelming task of discovering the "new"* bands. I go day by day, and so far day one is looking pretty good. Here are the top 5 bands I am stoked to see at Coachella this year.
Hello Seahorse!
This band is a perfect mix of upbeat dance music that I love and deep heartfelt Spanish ballads that always move me. I especially love this track called "Un Ano Quebrado"
Madness
God I am so excited to see madness. They helped create modern day Ska and they always put on an amazing show. This is my favorite song by them called "Our House"
M83
I remember hearing M83 and their song "Midnight City at Zia Records. I ran straight home and downloaded it right away. I listened to it Five times in a row. M83 makes me want to get up and dance like there is no one in the room**
The Horrors
I don't know what I love more about The Horrors, the heavily eye liner look that the entire band loves, the amazing outfits they wear on stage, or the dreamy British accents that they croon at you with. This band is pretty bad ass and they do it with out even trying. This is my favorite song by them I Can See Through You.
Swedish House Mafia
I saved the best for last. Swedish House puts on and AMAZING light show when they do live shows, Their isn't anyone who is dancing during their sets. This is my new favorite song "Antidote"
I will go ahead and post new bands from day two and three as I finish listening to them in future posts.
* clearly by new I mean new to me.
** all the while checking to see if anyone is looking at me dancing.
