One Week Clean-Eating Challenge

Image via here.
In the always important movement of not becoming a TLC special, I have decided to start this challenge. Its a simple easy to follow guide that will leave you with more energy and feeling refreshed. If you want to try this out, you'll be focusing on WHOLE foods, no refined sugars, no processed items, and also cutting things out like white pastas and breads if you'd like, alot fruits and veggies are the way to go. You will have to  eat more often. You will eat lean protein, complex carbs, and healthy fats. These practices keep your blood-sugar levels stable and keep you satisfied.

I went to Sprouts to day after work and loaded up on healthy foods. I am hell bound to start saving money and cooking at home ( The two go hand in hand).

Here's what's for dinner tonight:

veggie stirfry with mushrooms, red bell peppers, sprouts, onions, and spinach.
Brown Rice

I feel better already.

Day 2

Picking up on where I left off, I am writing about my favorite bands for day two of Coachella. There are alot of bands on day two and sadly I have the feeling some of them will be playing at the same time.

Here are my top five bands/artists that I am looking forward to watching* at Coachella day 2

Dragonette- They are like Goldfrapp meets La Roux. I  hope she plays at night with a fun light show. Here is her song "Pick up the phone"

We Were Promised Jet Packs- I really love this song. "bring me back to life, I've stumbled so many times"
This is "Medicine"
Miike Snow- This song clearly says it all. This is "Devil's Work"

St Vincent- Holly balls I am dying to see St. Vincent!! I have heard that they are unbelivable live. This is my new favorite "Cheerleader"

Bon Iver- Even though most of their songs are slow and the lead singer  looks like a grizzly man, Bon Iver has seriously been growing on me and has even made me cry every now and then. Listen to "Skinny Love"

37 days and counting folks.
* and dancing too obvs.

Adulthood

Every now and then it hits me that whoa I am 22. When the hell did that happen? wasn't it just yesterday that I was 16 and sitting in the back of my AP English class reading mangas instead of learning Walt Whitman. Now I have to deal with adult issues like paying rent and bills and worrying about insurance coverage. I see so many other adults my age who have it together, they have finished college, have real jobs, and grown up hair cuts. Here I am working on being a nurse and working at a job where I have to make coffee for the grown up adults my age. People keep telling me to keep going and not to give up but it isn't always that easy. I feel like this year is my make it or break it year, and my to do list keeps growing. I guess I should just take it on one by one and pray I don't fuck it up.
